It is a first-person Souls-like built from horror, the supernatural, and war, with Metroidvania-inspired levels. Melee weapons, ranged weapons, and mysterious abilities share the same kit, under Napoleon Bonaparte in an alternate 19th-century Europe.
You play William, a Grande Armée soldier brought back from a battlefield grave, with the plague's power already in his veins. That power is spent on attacks and supernatural abilities, and each death is a chance to grow stronger.
Napoleon's Eternal Guard appear as plague-ridden abominations, so the ranks in front of William are not a regiment you can talk down. One More Level S.A. and Lyrical Games hold the copyright. VALOR MORTIS is a trademark of One More Level S.A.

What is already named
James Alexander voices William Dowsett, Vincent Cassel voices Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, and Jennifer English voices The Shrike. Those three roles were announced together on October 9, the same day the launch time was set.
The clock is October 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM PT, 1:00 PM ET, and 5:00 PM UTC. That hour covers PS5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Steam on Windows, and Xbox Game Pass from the first day.
The standard edition is $39.99, €39.99, and 149.99 zł. Deluxe is $59.99, €59.99, and 199.99 zł, and it includes a major story download next year plus cosmetic packs before that.
On the morning of October 13, 2026, the game was still marked coming soon and no store price was posted yet, so the shelf can lag the clock. Windows is the only PC platform. Mac and Linux are not offered.
Full audio is English. Interface languages add French, Italian, German, Spanish from Spain, Japanese, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, both Chinese scripts, Russian, Ukrainian, Korean, and Turkish. Age ratings are ESRB M, for 17 and up, PEGI 18, and USK 18.
The four named weapons are Rapier, Saber, Musket, and Pistol. The three bosses with move lists are Lothaire, Aurelius, and the Sphinx. Ambers are equipped at a lantern by spending Catalysts, and the first Amber slot opens at level 5. Transmutations are the left-hand powers, and they spend Nephtoglobin.
The public reveal was Gamescom Opening Night Live in August 2025. A playtest ran from October 6 through October 13, 2025. A Steam demo followed on June 7, 2026. The release date moved from September 24, 2026 to October 13, 2026. Launch scores are Metacritic 77 on PC, 83 on PS5, and OpenCritic at 84 percent recommend.
New Game Plus is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, with tougher enemies and the loot and progression you already hold. Several free updates are also planned after launch. PC minimums, the recommended box, and the edition split are on the release page.
Store bundles group Valor Mortis with Dishonored, No Rest for the Wicked, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, and the Ghostrunner series. Those are other games sold beside it, not chapters or packs inside this one. No extra demo, downloadable content, or separate full-game package comes with the game. The June 7 demo already shipped.
